NO INSTALL

A habit tracker that runs in your browser, with nothing to install

Open a tab and start tracking. It works on a locked-down work laptop, on Android, on Windows, on Linux, and on any machine where you cannot or would rather not install an app.

Why this matters more than it sounds

Most habit trackers ask for a download before they will show you anything. That is a strange thing to ask for a tool whose entire job is to remove friction from a small daily action. It also quietly rules out a lot of real situations: a work computer you do not control, a shared machine, a Windows desktop when the app is iPhone only, or simply not wanting a fifteenth icon on your home screen.

Stelo runs as a web app first. That is not a stopgap while we wait for app stores, it is the version most people use.

What you get in the browser

Being straight about the trade-off: a web app cannot read Apple Health, cannot put a complication on an Apple Watch, and its widgets are limited compared to a native app. If those matter more to you than reach, an iPhone-only tracker will serve you better and we would rather say so.

How to install it anyway, in ten seconds

  1. iPhone and iPad. Open app.steloapp.io in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  2. Android. Open it in Chrome, tap the menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
  3. macOS and Windows. In Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in the address bar. In Safari, File then Add to Dock.
  4. Anywhere else. Bookmark it. It is a normal page and it will behave like one.

Where the data lives

Your habits sync to your account so a lost laptop is not a lost history, and a local copy stays in your browser so the app opens instantly and works offline. Stelo sets no cookies at all, and there is no advertising SDK and no cross-site tracking. The details, including every service that processes anything on our behalf, are in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.

Sign-in is a one-time code sent to your email, or Apple and Google. There is no password to leak, because Stelo does not have one.

Common questions

Is there a habit tracker that works without downloading an app?

Yes. Stelo runs in any modern browser with nothing to install, and it includes habits, streaks, a to-do list, a pomodoro timer, a calendar heatmap and friends. You can also add it to your home screen or dock so it opens in its own window.

Does the browser version have fewer features?

No. There is no reduced web edition. The browser version is the full product and it is the one most people use.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Installed to your home screen or dock it keeps working without a connection and syncs your check-ins once you are back online.

Do I need an account?

Yes, an email address, because your habits sync across devices and a shared leaderboard needs an identity. Sign-in is a one-time code or Apple and Google, so there is no password.

Will there be native iOS and Android apps?

They are in development and the same account will work across all of them. The browser version is not going away when they ship.

Can I use it on a work computer where I cannot install software?

That is one of the main reasons it exists. It is a normal web page, so if your browser can open it you can use it.
